Craft Your Own Wine in Las Vegas
Grape Expectations Las Vegas was founded in 2005 by Charlie Peters, a registered sommelier and food and beverage executive, with a vision to bring community together through hands-on winemaking education. Overcoming legal barriers in Nevada, we pioneered the state's first winemaking school, evolving from a 3,200-square-foot facility to an 11,000-square-foot space to accommodate growing demand. Our unique 'one barrel at a time' model empowers individuals and groups to craft their own wines using premium California, Chilean, and South African grapes. Led by co-owners Patty Peters and Mike Schoenbaechler, our team combines decades of expertise with a commitment to innovation, including launching Vegas Valley Winery, Clark County's first commercial winery.

We emphasize experiential learning through four-step winemaking sessions, annual Bacchus Awards, and community events, fostering a vibrant fraternity of over 4,000 winemakers. Our partnerships with UC Davis and adherence to rigorous production standards ensure educational excellence, while our legacy of legislative advocacy reshaped Nevada's wine industry. Today, we continue Charlie's mission to make winemaking accessible, educational, and deeply social.

We are part of a wine group that makes our own wine! It's so special and fun. Everyone at the winery is amazing (KJ and Big Mike!) We've also attended a wedding reception there and it was lovely.
