In 2005 the Cady School of Music opened its doors at 819 Livingston Avenue in Albany, NY. With a modest beginning of 3 teachers and 13 students, the groundwork was being laid for the hundreds of students that would start, continue, and finish their music education within our small, 4 room, school. In September of 2017, Guilderland Music Academy opened its doors at 1823 Western Avenue within the Westmere Plaza.
As a continuation of the experience and reputation of the Cady School of Music in Albany, the new space offered 7 rooms, ample parking, and a much better location for our students, and families. Our last, and latest expansion, occurred in April of 2019 and saw the addition of 6 new rooms (bringing our total to 11 classrooms), a new office space, teacher's lounge, and new paint and carpeting throughout our school.

Strings Lessons

We offer lessons on string instruments including the violin, viola, cello, and bass. Students will start with the basics of their chosen instrument such as proper tone production, hand position, finger placement, and bow hold. Intermediate and advanced students will further advance their studies through both technical studies and while learning significant repertoire within a variety of styles and genres.
