Berkshire Music School
The mission of the Berkshire Music School is to foster the love and pursuit of music for all ages through quality music education activities, community collaborations, and performance opportunities. Founded in 1940 by Winnie Davis Long Crane, the Berkshire Music School serves more than 250 students each year from more than 40 professional music educators, who teach numerous classes including chamber ensembles, groups workshops, and summer camps.

The organization also hosts collaborations with other cultural organizations, social service agencies, and senior centers as well as recitals, concerts, and residencies at its historic home and venues across the county.

Private lessons are the core of all BMS programs. Lessons may be arranged for 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes each week to meet the needs of the individual student, and are offered throughout the year. Online lessons are conducted via Zoom, Facetime, or Skype, and students should have access to a computer or iPad with internet connection.
Outreach

Berkshire Music School's active outreach program brings musical enrichment to underserved students throughout the community during in-school and after-school courses, offered both in-person and online. Our teaching artists also work closely with senior centers, libraries, museums, and other community organizations in order to provide concerts, interactive workshops, small group lessons, and more.

Kicking-off BMS's Music @ The Taft series, this eight-piece band fuses together a unique combination of Zimbabwean, Haitian, Chilean and other Latin American traditions, topped off with some fiery jazz improvisation. Come for an exciting evening of music you won't forget!

Fun and interactive music for kids from Zimbabwe, Latin America and beyond with guitarist Jason Ennis, Chilean singer Natalia Bernal, and Zimbabwean singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Tendai Muparutsa.Bring the whole family for an entertaining musical morning! Renowned musician Otha Day facilitates this fun and lively hands-on experience designed for all ages.
