I am a U.S.C.G. licensed CT fishing charter captain and co-owner/operator of Kingfisher Charters the past 20 years. I have been fishing Long Island sound and the surrounding waters for the past 40 years.
A life- long fisherman, my extensive experience includes catching inshore local species (Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Sea Bass, Scup, and Blackfish), offshore species (Tuna, Shark, Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, and Wahoo), and fish from the waters of the Caribbean and Central America (Tarpon, Snook, Sailfish, Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda and many others).My favorite type of fishing has always been targeting larger fish with big live baits.

The Kingfisher fishing charter boat is a 2001 Hydra Sports walkaround, with a cuddy cabin and full bathroom. Powered by clean and quiet twin 2017 250 Suzuki outboards, the deep V hull cuts through choppy waters and cruises at 30 Knots. This will get you to the fishing grounds twice as fast as most other CT charter boats, WITHOUT SMELLY DIESEL FUMES.

Half day fishing charter trips in Long Island Sound consists of 5 hours of fishing for the targeted species. You can choose to target gamefish- Stripers, Bluefish and False Albacore, or bottom fish- Fluke, Sea Bass, Scup, or Blackfish. The most popular trip is drift fishing using live bunker to catch large Stripers and Bluefish.

What happens if inclement weather is forecasted? At times inclement weather conditions are forecasted. However, your location forecast may differ from the marine forecast for the better or for worse. If the captain determines that unsafe conditions will exist for the time/day of your trip the charter will be cancelled and a mutually agreed upon rescheduled date will be reserved.
