Award-Winning Wisconsin Wines from Spurgeon Vineyards
Spurgeon Vineyards has been crafting exceptional Wisconsin wines since 1977. Our journey began when Glen and Mary Spurgeon purchased 80 acres of Southwest Wisconsin land, planting our first grapevines that same year. Through strategic vineyard expansion and meticulous winemaking practices, we opened our doors in 1982 as one of the region's pioneering wineries. We specialize in creating wines that authentically capture the essence of locally sourced ingredients, including Wisconsin-grown grapes, honey, cherry juice, and cranberries. While most of our 15+ varieties feature local produce, we selectively use Lake Erie Wine Belt juices that we ferment ourselves to maintain quality standards. Our portfolio caters to diverse palates, offering award-winning dry reds that sell by the case, the versatile St.Pepin dry wine, and signature sweet wines like the fruit-forward Ruby Lady concord grape wine and Blueberry Mead blend. Nestled in the valley below Southwest Wisconsin's grape-growing hills, our vineyards benefit from natural drainage that enhances grape quality. We maintain rigorous quality control throughout production, aging wines properly before bottling to ensure optimal flavor development. Our tasting room operates seven days a week, providing visitors the opportunity to experience Wisconsin's terroir through our carefully crafted wines that reflect both tradition and innovation in regional winemaking.
