Bread became our passion at the restaurant, and then grew into its own business. From baking in eight Dutch ovens, to a one-deck bread oven bursting at its seams - the Little Red Hen Bakery continues to expand. All of our bread is naturally leavened using young starter. This results in a mild acidity that accentuates the natural flavor of our carefully sourced grains.

We began getting serious about the bread we served at the Oystercatcher restaurant during the slow season in 2015. We were baking our loaves out of eight Dutch ovens, but more and more people wanted to buy our bread. We began selling it at the Coupeville Farmer's market, and started having a hard time keeping up with demand.

This 100% Ebey's Prairie-grown whole wheat bread is full bodied and reminiscent of old world style breads.
