Christie Johnson's Learning Center offers tutoring in all subject areas, centered in the belief that everyone can reach his or her own full potential. The tutors at CJLC help students in math, from the fundamental skills taught in kindergarten through Algebra II. We recently added Trig/ Math Analysis, Calculus, and Statistics.
We tutor K-12th grade students in reading, emphasizing informational texts and note-taking in the upper grades. We tutor all grades in writing, providing support with term papers for college students. We support students in traditional, year round, private, charter, virtual, and home schools. We want every student to have confidence and support as they learn and grow.

We tutor hour long sessions, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 7:30 with an additional 2:30 hour on Wednesdays. We encourage the older students to take the later hours so they have plenty of time for after-school activities and sports before coming to tutoring. This varies from student to student because we individualize each session to the student's needs and goals.

Personal Passions: Everything Pop Culture: Music (listening and writing), Movies, Video Games. Travel. Spending time with my wife and our cat Aida (who runs the show in our household). I remember that hopeless feeling of being lost and behind in classwork, and I don't want my students to feel that way.

Academics/Credentials: CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential; BA in Liberal Studies, UC Santa Barbara; Clear Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate; Orton-Gillingham Training for Dyslexia. Years Tutoring/Teaching: 7 years tutoring; 30+ years teaching 3rd and 4th grades plus Art Appreciation, being a K-6 substitute and Special Education aide.

Years Tutoring: 14, including working in special ed (TSP and SDC), being a teacher's assistant for various grades, and currently assisting 9-12 graders at Casa Grande High School. After years of tutoring students of all ages and grade levels, I've developed a "reaching them to teach them" style that revolves around each child's personality and needs.
