We are Lexington, Kentucky's ULTIMATE contemporary Pilates studio located near downtown in the heart of Chevy Chase offering Pilates Reformer, Barre, and Mat based classes. In addition, we offer Aerial Yoga and Aerial Hoop. Our fitness studio is fully equipped with Balanced Body Reformers, Wundachairs, Pedipuls, High Barrel, and Spine Correctors.

We are passionate about teaching all ages--teens to seniors--with a focus on fitness and conditioning the body. We work with injuries and chronic pain, embracing all challenges to assist each client in reaching their individual goals.

This beginner to intermediate Pilates class is a somewhat slower paced class that focuses on proper use of equipment such as the Reformer, Barrel, and Wunda Chair in order to re-align your body, strengthen underutilized, but important postural and stability muscles, and improve flexibility as you develop a deeper understanding of the exercises, and begin to truly re-shape and re-align your body.

All movement starts with the breath and our breathing muscles - which in turn leads to total core activation. Our breathing muscles are our core muscles. When we work the core actively vs. passively, we double the work. With percussive breath, we get more core activation and bigger results.

Knowledge of the physical body (skeleton, muscles, fascia), awareness of muscle activation (where the work comes from) and biomechanics (how the body moves) is paramount for results-driven exercise.Pilates is the integration of breath mind and body. It's whole body integrated movement so the work resides in the finer muscle groups as well as the bigger groups.
