Berry Family Dentistry, formerly known as Dr. Thomas A. Berry D.D.S., Inc. is a family owned dental practice with deep roots in Bakersfield, CA.
Dr. Thomas A. Berry opened the dental practice's doors in the Westchester/Downtown Bakersfield area in 1987. The practice remained there for 6 years before moving to their current location in the 500 building of Southwest Mercy Hospital. In 2018, Dr. Thomas A. Berry's son, Dr. Michael R. Berry, D.D.S. graduated from the same dental school his father graduated from 31 years prior (Creighton University, Omaha, NE).

Most dental cleanings will be performed by one of our highly qualified, California LICENSED, Dental Hygienists and last around one hour. Having a dental cleaning every 6 months is important to prevent cavities from forming, along with gum problems and over all tooth health. Although it may sound contradictory, visiting the dental office biannually for evaluations and cleanings is the best way to stay out of the dental chair.
CBCT technology is a highly sophisticated machine that provides a three dimensional image of the maxillofacial hard tissues. Three dimensional radiography allows the surgeon pin point where any important structures are before the surgery. The cone beam provides for a much safer and highly successful procedure.
The Pin Hole surgery is used to treat gum recession. The surgery that was invented and patented by Dr. John Chao requires NO scalpel, bone augmentation or sutures! The procedure involves using a needles to poke a hole in the gums and connective tissue is used to push the gums back up toward their normal position.
Conscious Oral Sedation is a game changer for an apprehensive Pediatric Patient that needs dental treatment. Very often, young children are scared about treatment and have trouble sitting still for a period of time. With pediatric sedation, the child has a much better experience and the dentist is able to perform treatment more efficiently.

My two children absolutely LOVE Dr. Berry and staff! My oldest son has had a rough road with his teeth and has always had major anxiety going to the dentist and after his FIRST visits for a check up with Dr. Berry he was smiles and expressed to me over and over how much he loved this office! Our experience is always amazing and pain free! Dr Berry is always caring, gentle and truthful about what work needs to be done! Their hygienists are also very kind and gentle!
