The crew here at Big Blue Charters of Newburyport have years of experience. Retired captain Tom Sawyer now first mate has been fishing on the ocean since 1973, Tom first started fishing out of a small center console boat for striped Bass on the Merrimack River and surrounding waters. After owning several boats, he finally found the one that fits him the best.

The Ida Mary is a 33 foot Downeast boat made by Crowley Beal, and has a 12 foot beam. She is powered by a very reliable Yanmar diesel motor with 440hp. The downeast design of this boat allows it to glide across the water making your trip very relaxing. Our Electronics consists of the newest technology on the market by Simrad.
