What is Iyengar Yoga
Report
Iyengar Yoga is a system of Hatha yoga developed by BKS Iyengar and brought to the US in the 1960's. Iyengar yoga is appropriate for all levels of students. Beginners are very welcome, and no prior yoga experience is necessary.

B.K.S. Iyengar (1918-2014) is responsible for codifying a system or style of practicing Yoga that makes sense and creates an environment and access to the traditional transformative way of practicing Yoga by brilliantly utilizing everyday objects like chairs, belts and straps, blocks, planks, benches to provide sustained support and structure to those who otherwise could not do the practice.

Center for Yoga is the best place I have found for yoga. They actually teach you the proper poses during the practice so you don't hurt yourself. All of the instructors and helpers are so nice, helpful and especially well trained.

A studio like this with no reviews! I can't believe it.

I've been spoiled by amazing yoga instructors while I lived in Chicago and Detroit, and I can tell you with confidence that this studio is one of the best you will find in all of Midwest.

My cousin and I took a class with Leslie on Saturday morning. We were the only two students in class, which basically meant a private session. Leslie is a miracle worker. She is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and soothing to the soul.

The highlights included some of the best adjustments I've had throughout the last seven years of practicing

I took prenatal yoga and two mom-and-baby yoga classes here and thought it was great. The studio is neat and attractive, and the instructors are very knowledgeable. (I particularly loved Clare, who taught the prenatal yoga class I took.)

Incidentally, the prenatal yoga was great for my back pain, and the moms-and-babies classes were a lot of fun. There wasn't any pressure to be perfect (or actually to do any yoga at all -- there were times when I didn't, because my son was grumpy or hungry), and it was a great way to get out of the house and talk to other moms when my son was tiny.
