The man, the myth, the legend. Axel Svenson was born and raised fishing in Ketchikan, Alaska. Since the age of 3, you could find Axel hanging around the docks of the Knudson Cove Marina and Clover Pass Marina. At 12, Axel and his friends caught a monster 160lb plus halibut off the dock. This amazing feat was quickly noticed and headlined local news.

Many people believe they won't have enough time in port (Ketchikan) to make a charter. Most of the time they are wrong. You need a total of 6 hours in port. For example, if your cruise says it'll dock at 8 AM and leave at 2 PM you will be able to make a 4 four charter from 9 AM to 1 PM. The four hour charter is our most popular trip.
Salmon Fishing

You can't say you've been to Ketchikan, Alaska and not gone salmon fishing. The king salmon is the biggest of the salmon and is pictured above. King salmon can get up to a whopping 60 lbs in our area! They are known for their strength and ability to dive deep once hooked, which is quite a thrill. This is why Ketchikan has the annual Ketchikan King Salmon Derby where the 1st place prize is over $10,000 dollars!
Halibut Fishing

Halibut are an interesting fish. When halibut are born, they are all male and swim upright with eyes of both sides of their heads similar to a salmon. As they mature, they eventually lay flat and swim with their dark side up. The eye on the white side of the fish then migrates to dark side. When they reach a length of over 45 inches they become females.
