Since 1989, throughout the Chicago-land area, Northwestern Driving school has earned a great reputation for responsible driving instruction. We provide programs for teens (15-18 years old) and adults. Although we specialize in instruction with first-time drivers, we also provide brush-up lessons as well.
We do our best to accommodate all students. Our school provides classroom instruction for teens who want to complete their driver's education and earn their state certification (instruction permit). Not only are our instructors fully licensed and bonded, but they also have years of driving instruction experience.

Services
Road Test Exam
Report
We're able to administer the Road Test to students who have completed an approved driver education course. We currently provide the Road Test at our Skokie facility. Students will use our car to take the road test. We do require a parent/guardian to be present to sign a consent form allowing us to administer the test to their teenager.
Chicago Location

Our teen program is a four-week course. Once in our program, you will receive 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving. There are also 6 hours of observation which consists of having students observe their partner's driving. We do have programs that enable students to opt-out of observation.
Adult Program
Report
Any student over the age of 15 can receive private driving instruction based on their needs. Adults are required to have an instruction permit before starting lessons. If you need help obtaining your permit, please visit Written/Permit Exam Practice to register for this online practice course before heading to the DMV to obtain your permit.
Remedial Program / Suspension

Of State recently gave Northwestern Driving School the capability of electronically submitting your completion within 24 hours of completing our Remedial Course! We're proud to be one of the only establishments to offer electronic submissions.
Drivers who have received 2 violations within 24 months, or who received a violation under the Zero Tolerance Law and received a suspension of their driver's license, are required by the State of Illinois to complete the Driver Remedial Education course.Please call us at 847-674-4554 to register or visit the class schedule to register online.
