Handcrafted Mountain Wines Since 1998
Established in 1998, Robert Foley Vineyards represents decades of winemaking excellence rooted in Napa Valley. Our founder, Bob Foley, began his journey in 1977 after earning dual degrees in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis. With a career spanning renowned wineries like Markham Vineyards and Pride Mountain Vineyards, we bring over 40 vintages of award-winning expertise to every bottle. Our portfolio showcases bold reds such as Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by distinctive offerings like our Chardonnay and Port-style Concluso.

Housed in a 20,000-square-foot cave system on Howell Mountain, our three-person team meticulously crafts each wine while maintaining personal connections with our clientele. We prioritize sustainable practices and direct customer engagement through our appointment-only tastings and responsive communication channels. Our facility, featuring a gravity-flow winery and extensive barrel aging caves, allows us to maintain quality control throughout the production process.

Services
Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon showcases intense dark fruit flavors with structured tannins. Sustainably grown at 2,000 feet elevation, these grapes benefit from volcanic soils and cool mountain breezes. Each vintage receives 20+ months of oak aging in French barrels, producing age-worthy wines that balance power with elegance.
Merlot
Crafted from estate vineyards on Howell Mountain, our Merlot features plush plum and black cherry notes with velvety texture. The microclimate and well-drained soils create ideal conditions for this varietal. Blending with small amounts of Cabernet Franc adds complexity to this food-friendly wine.
Charbono
One of California's rarest varietals, our Charbono offers vibrant acidity with flavors of blackberry and spice. This limited-production wine comes from old vines that thrive in our mountain terroir. The naturally low yields produce concentrated flavors while maintaining freshness.
Chardonnay
Our cool-climate Chardonnay from Carneros features bright citrus and mineral notes with crisp acidity. Fermented in stainless steel with partial malolactic conversion, this wine maintains freshness while developing texture. The unoaked style highlights the purity of fruit from sustainably farmed vineyards.
Wine Tastings
By-appointment tastings offer personalized experiences with our winemaker. Guests explore current releases while touring the gravity-flow winery and barrel caves. The one-hour session includes five premium wines with detailed production insights. Reservations required for up to 10 guests per day.

My sister booked this place for a private tasting from numerous recommendations and it turned out very good. We liked several of their wines and it had a rich history. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to tour the property and see more, but I'd definitely recommend this to others.
