Overview
Report
Dating back thousands of years, is thought to be one of the oldest forms of medicine in the world. Acupuncture itself involves various techniques of stimulating points on the body. Most commonly used and well known among acupuncture techniques is the penetration of the skin with small, sterile, disposable needles.
Acupuncture
Report
Acupuncture is a treatment that originated from traditional Chinese medicine more than 5,000 years ago. It is designed to help remedy pain, suffering, and other bodily ailments. By addressing your body's internal energy flows, or qi (pronounced chee), acupuncture can help to alleviate swelling, reduce pain, and positively affect the function of your organs.
Electroacupuncture
Report
Looking for Electroacupuncture near you? Robert Ogarek is one of the top Acupuncturists in Denver and has extensive experience utilizing electrical stimulation to further target what is ailing you. An electroacupuncture treatment uses the same principals as acupuncture, but with an added low-voltage electrical component.
Cupping
Report
Like acupuncture, cupping is a part of traditional Chinese medicine that dates back thousands of years. Cupping involves the use of either a glass or plastic cup placed on the skin. A vacuum gets produced beneath the cup by the application of heat or by a pump. When the cup is applied to the skin's surface, the suction created by the vacuum aids in pulling out toxic buildup from the muscle tissue.
Gua Sha
Report
Gua Sha is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that, much like acupuncture, is aimed at balancing out internal energy flows. However, gua sha does this in a different way. Gua Sha - pronounced 'gwahshah' - originates from the Chinese word for scraping. This technique is a form of massage stimulation that requires a tool with a rounded edge.
