Dr. Dieter Steimann brings over 30 years experience to the practice, while his son, Dr. Hans Steimann, brings a working knowledge of the latest trends and technology in the field of optometrics.

Dr. Dieter Steimann moved to the States from Munich, Germany in 1968. He attended Fullerton Community College and Cal State Fullerton and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He continued his education and graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1978. After graduation, he and a fellow student started their first practice together, right behind the Stater Brothers on Lakeview in Yorba Linda.

Our staff is thoroughly trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of the optical field. We specialize in routine eye care such as examinations, eyewear, and contact lenses and provide medical care for treating dry eye, red eye, occular allergies, glaucoma. When necessary, we coordinate with retinal specialists and refer patients for Lasik eye surgery, as well as do pre and post op visits.

NCT Test: If you have ever had an eye exam, chances are you have had an NCT test. For our office, we use a non-contact tonometry which does not touch your eye but uses a puff of air to flatten your cornea. The test one of the most important preformed during your exam because it tests for glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease that can cause blindness by damaging the nerve in the back of the eye, also known as the optic nerve.

At Yorba Linda Vision Center, we not only want to test your vision, we also want to evaluate the health of your eyes. The doctors have invested a great deal of time and money into insuring that we can treat our patients for Glaucoma, Retinal Diseases and many more eye related issues. The OCT is used in our glaucoma workups as well as assessing retinal tears in patient's experiencing loss of vision or flashes and floaters.

Dr. Steimann may have started his practice 35 years ago, but we are by no means "old School" in our practices. We strive to keep up with the latest technology that the optical field has to offer. We recently replaced our retinal camera with the Daytona Optomap Retinal Imaging instrument by Optos which offers up to 82% viewing area of the retina.
