About
Report
My interest in holistic medicine started when I was an undergraduate at Ramapo College of New Jersey. I studied abroad in India and became fascinated with their holistic approach to healing. My curiosity peaked when I discovered acupuncture. I was immediately intrigued by this ancient medicine and its method of evaluation of wellness.
Faq
Report
Does Acupuncture hurt? The needles used in acupuncture are very thin (the size of a strand of hair). Some patients are more sensitive to acupuncture needles than others. Sometimes the patients will feel a tiny pinch on the insertion of the needle. After the needle is inserted, there might be a sensation of heat, numbness, achiness, throbbing, nerviness, or nothing at all.
Gua Sha
Report
We offer Gua Sha used in conjunction with acupuncture to hasten the relief of pain. Gua Sha is an ancient medical treatment that has been used for thousands of years to bring relief from very common conditions such as fever and general muscle pain. Gua Sha helps remove stagnation (which is often the source of pain) to help bring blood flow to the area.
Moxibustion
Report
Moxibustion is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. A stick or cone of mugwort is placed directly on the skin, or indirectly above the skin on acupuncture points and affected areas of the body. When the mugwort is lit, it provides heat that penetrates slowly to stimulate the qi or strengthen the blood flow of the affected meridian.
Electric Stimulation
Report
Electric stimulation helps relax muscles, move stagnant blood and lymph from the area, and relieve pain. Needles are inserted at different acupuncture points or in specific muscles and the device is attached to the needles via wires and small clips. The device generates continuous electric pulses through the needles which then contracts the muscles.
