South Philadelphia Community Acupuncture
We are the first choice for those seeking natural, holistic treatment for pain, stress, anxiety, fertility, and prenatal wellness. At the beginning of every appointment, your practitioner will take the time to assess your individual needs to provide you with a customized treatment to best support your health and vitality.

After your treatment, your practitioner may prescribe herbal or natural remedies from our apothecary to assist in your total body healing. To make our acupuncture treatments more affordable, we treat our patients in a small-group setting. Our patients are able to combine acupuncture, therapeutic massage, and natural remedies from our apothecary to address several aspects of their condition simultaneously.

History
Report
In 2007, our owner and founder, Lauren Buckley, listened to the call of her roots and moved back to Philadelphia while pregnant with her first son. After leaving the city at the age of 18 to embark on her journey in the healing arts, Lauren returned home to Philadelphia to give back to the community she knew and loved.

Report
Acupuncture is a system of integrative medicine that stimulates certain points on the body, most often with a thin, pine-like needle penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain or to help treat various health conditions. It goes all the way back to the Stone Age and was first written about over 2,200 years ago in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, the earliest written work on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Cupping
Report
Cupping has been growing in popularity thanks to celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow and athletes like Michael Phelps. Its practice is nothing new, however, and dates back all the way to 1,550 B.C., when it was cited by the Egyptians in one of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, Ebers Papyrus.
Gua Sha
Report
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light to dark discoloration. This discoloration, known as "sha, " is metabolic waste that is being released from stagnant areas, promoting blood flow and healing. Your acupuncturist will first apply organic oil to the treatment area and will then begin scraping the skin using long strokes with a gua sha massage tool.
