In 1984 when Philip was called to serve his church full-time the company was purchased by his son Mark Sonntag, and his son-in-law Dean Hodson. Mark and Dean had success for over 31 years before Philip & Co was acquired by Philip Sonntag's granddaughter Melissa Butikofer and her husband Eric Butikofer.

They have carried on the traditions of the founder as the store branched out to retail customers. It has always been the goal of the owners to create a company that gives low prices, high quality, and great service. At least three generations of customers have purchased their wedding rings at Philip and Company.
