Pets & Friends Animal Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado was started as a sole proprietorship in 1984 by Dr. and Mrs. Tom Bird. He grew the business substantially over the years until his retirement in 1995. Beginning in 1996, the business was purchased by a Limited Liability Company, Pets & Friends Animal Hospital, L.L.C.

With each new litter, the number of homeless pets grows and these new puppies and kittens find themselves fighting for a limited number of homes-with an uncertain future when there are not enough homes to be found.
