Pop-A-Lock of New Orleans opened in 1993 as a "Car Door Unlocking Company" and introduced Pop-A-Locks' signature Emergency Car Door Unlocking (EDU) service as a free public service to the New Orleans Metro Area. By 1998 the company had 8 full time employees and its' EDU service had become a critical component of the areas 911 emergency response system
