Tina grew up on Mercer Island, graduated from Mercer Island High School, and then from WSU in 1982. She met Joe, another Coug, in their senior year. Two years later in 1983, they tied the knot. They explored the wineries of Washington, Oregon, and California during the mid 1980s when there were fewer than fifty wineries in Washington, less in Oregon
