Dr. Laura Broughton holds the Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts. She has served three terms as president of the Hattiesburg Music Teachers League (HMTL). She is currently serving as the chair of the 2021 HMTL Composer Festival, a biennial event which lasts for 2 days and showcases a prominent contemporary American composer
