
Family Support Center celebrates 10 years of service to families of Contra Costa County. Our goal is to raise $50,000 dollars this year for our ten years of service to the community. Support us by giving on COPE's website. Give to a specific program by supporting C.O.P.E.'s mission to prevent child abuse and strengthen family relationships.

C.O.P.E.'s mission is to strengthen family relationships through counseling options and parent education programs. We provide a safe space and supportive environment that nurtures families and encourages healthy relationships. C.O.P.E. was founded by the acting Executive Director, Cathy Botello, who has worked in the non-profit and county agencies for the past 20 years.

COPE Family Support Services is a 501c3 non-profit that serves all families which is made possible by federal and foundation-based grants along with help from generous donors. Your support makes our work possible because no one should have to manage family stress alone. Donating to our PayPal allows for direct monetary donations along with setting up generous monthly donations.

Cathy has worked in non-profit and county agencies for the past 20 years. With a degree a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting, she started her career in the corporate world working in IT and Commercial Escrow. After a move from Texas to California, Cathy adopted a baby in 2004, a life changing decision that brought her to the non-profit world where she took a parenting class.

Parents learned about different parenting strategies such as exploring alternative strategies to improve community and creating a more positive relationship with their teen, setting goals with their teens, well as how important it is to monitor their students grades and attendance.
Students learned different life skills such as how tardies and attendance effect their daily routine and the consequences, how to work with their parents to resolve issues and what tools they can use to support their success.This was a great class and it will be available for parents again in the Fall of 2019.
