Brown Funeral Home has a long and proud tradition of serving the families of the North Country since 1892. Originally founded by Eugene J. Brown in 1892, the original location was on City Hall Place. After a fire, Mr. Brown moved to the second location on Bridge Street in Plattsburgh.
Around 1910, a second fire necessitated Mr. Brown to move the funeral home to its current location at 29 Broad Street, where he constructed a very large and modern funeral home.Brown Funeral Home, Inc. continues to be the oldest continually operated business in Clinton County. Eugene Brown began his career in funeral service after first being a U.S. Customs Agent, riding the train between Plattsburgh and Montreal.
