When Roy Oliver opened the doors of The Cattleman's Steak House, State Line Avenue was a two-lane road and the restaurant was surrounded by wooded land. Today, State Line is the heart of Texarkana and bustles with the sights and sounds of the city. But through it all, The Cattleman's has remained the same, owned and operated by the Oliver family, and still a great place to relax and enjoy a great meal.

Food was great. I brought steak home because it was way under cooked. For the price you would think you'd get your steak the way you want it. Guess not.

Old school must try Steak House. Love love love. Literally on the State line. Great staff, spoke with everyone like I was a regular. You know they say shop local, we'll eat local too.

Great food, very good service, beats any other steak restaurant in town. There's a reason they have been in business for such a long time.

Tried ordering the Tuesday prime rib special to go. Was told that you had to dine in to get it at the reduced price. Orders to go are full price. Styrofoam containers must be VERY expensive now. Oh well. Plenty of other restaurants out there.

Steaks were cooked correctly. Oysters Beniville excellent. Atmosphere was very relaxing and low keyed. Brittany was great server. If you go ask for her your dining experience will go smoothly

While this place is a potentially fun throw back to a bygone era, the food is only fair. You get the feeling that it was once great, and perhaps the pandemic has left them without adequate number of workers but this is no excuse really for quality. The absolute worst is that we were seated near the bar where smoking is still allowed (grandfathered in?!) and there is little attempt to clear the air for diners.

This resturant shows why they have been in a community for over 50 plus years. Staff from the front of the house, wait staff, and line cooks all were on point. Never had a wait for anything. Working like a well oiled machine that put a personal touch on everything

We were driving through the area and decided to give it a try. We were seated quickly and our server was very nice. The batter platter appetizer was great, especially the fried mushrooms. However, the rest of the meal was only ok. The steaks were over cooked and on the bland side. The baked potatoes had been in the warming bin way too long, so they tasted old and were cold. Broccoli was undercooked as well, and the house salad was very basic. Overall, not worth the price and not a place we would return to.
