Ptotomac Kempo Huntington
As always, we focus on individual lessons and small group classes, which you now can choose to be indoors, outdoors, or remote! We conduct all lessons and classes with appropriate size limits, social distancing, and safety precautions. All staff and students are wearing masks, and hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the studio.

Our cleaning procedures-always excellent-have been redoubled to accommodate the current situation. And, of course, anyone who is showing symptoms of illness is asked to stay home. Kempo is a blend of Karate and Kung Fu with roots that go back in history more than 1,500 years to the Shaolin Temple in China.

Report
No matter what shape you are currently in, becoming a student at Potomac Kempo will provide an exceptional path to becoming the person you wish to be. For many adults, a membership to the local gym is not enough to achieve personal fitness goals. However, exercising under the discipline of martial arts creates both novelty and drive for those who seek a higher level of fitness while learning practical self defense.
Kids
Report
At Potomac Kempo we provide a structured environment to channel youthful energy to a positive purpose. Potomac Kempo's classes for kids are dedicated to developing discipline and confidence while improving overall fitness, increasing strength, improving coordination, and enhancing both mental and physical balance.

Everyone benefits differently, but the number of success stories we hear is a constant reminder of the positive ways Kempo effects students' lives. Many of our students say Kempo has helped them eat healthier, lose weight, balance longer and stand taller. Some have even found that they can stop taking certain medications, or that a chronic pain has subsided.
About Kempo
Report
What do you think about as you fall headfirst towards the ground? Or, more to the point, what should you think about? If the surface is pavement or gravel? Should you tense for impact? No, obviously, you should just relax. In the case of falling, as in so many instances, our instincts are flawed. If you are falling towards the Earth, you should not tense for impact.
Student Profiles
Report
Joe is a seventeen-year-old who has been training for more than two-thirds of his life. As he eludes to, he doesn't remember a time when he was not a Potomac Kempo student. Recently, we had the honor to promote him to Second-Degree Black Belt, an honor that only a handful of others have achieved before graduating high school.
