We are a network of independent real estate brokers who believe the internet has transformed the real estate industry forever. Shouldn't Realtors and the commissions we receive evolve too? There is an important difference between real estate "agents" and "brokers." Agents are required to work under the supervision of a broker.
We represent buyers like you and rebate up to 1.5% of the sales price from our commission. This means if you purchase a home for $1,000,000, your rebate is likely to be $10,000 or $15,000, depending on the service option you select. Our most popular selection, we rebate 1% of the sales price to you and enable you to search for homes online.
We help you list your home on Zillow and interested buyers contact you directly. You show or provide access to the property. Once you come to an agreement on the sales price, we manage the process from that point forward, all the way through the close of escrow. We list your home on the MLS and it is syndicated to hundreds of websites.
The quick answer is that if you are buying a home that is listed for sale with a Realtor, the seller has already agreed to pay a commission to the buyer's agent. If you don't have your own agent, that Realtor will usually try to represent you AND the seller to make a double commission. This is known as "dual agency."

I couldn't recommend Hugh and Anita more highly when buying or selling a house. They were persistent (worked with us for 1+ year, 2 houses in escrow), professional (highly knowledgable about real estate nuances / contracts), and a pleasure to work with (made sure we felt good about purchase). I am so GRATEFUL and I can't say thank you enough to 1% Brokers, Realtors. They are the best and I really really recommend them. 1% Broker is absolutely the best. Hugh and his team are extremely thorough, deeply informed and leave no stone unturned to ensure a successful outcome of your real estate transaction. My recent property purchase would have failed without the support and advice provided by Hugh. Thanks to Hugh and Anita, we are living in our dream midcentury modern view home AND we saved TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on the purchase because of their reduced commission. Hugh was easy to work with and very helpful. We completed a private sale as a buyer, and we were going to do it without a broker. The seller suggested hiring a low cost broker to keep everything on track and to help with all the paperwork. There was a lot of paperwork. I'm glad they hired Hugh. He represented both sides and was always available to answer questions and send us documents to sign electronically. He kept everything on track and made sure everyone's needs were met.

I contacted Hugh to see what were his actual costs charged when selling a home after reading another reviewer stating that he found in the small print of his contract that Hugh actually charges a minimum of $8,000 when selling a home.
Hugh refused to answer the direct question and stated "Thank you for contacting us. We respectfully pass, but wish you good luck with your sale"

To Hugh who replied; There's a reason I was not a customer ("client) of yours. I didn't solicit your recommendation(s), since some of us can research and learn on our own, nor do we need our hand-held and think you're "amazing" for finding homes on the MLS which anyone could do if they spent the time. What I would recommend is not advertise in a bait & switch-type manner. Your min commission should be foremost in your advertisements, not in fine print.

I read all of the positive reviews on Angieslist and on Yelp so decided to give Hugh a call to discuss the possibility of listing our house in Culver City.
