My son lived here for his final 2 years of college before moving out of state. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to be in a family atmosphere. He followed the rules of the complex and paid his rent on time so he did not have any troubles. I have stayed at his apartment several times and have always felt safe. The rent was very reasonable compared to other apartments in the area. His unit was a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom and was very spacious. It was in Northport but took just a few minutes to reach UA campus. While in Tuscaloosa, he lived in 3 apartment complexes and this was the cleanest

A quiet, affordable place to live that's near campus, just don't anger the management.
The management loves to play favorites, and if they like you they turn a blind eye to your motorcycle which hasn't moved or been registered in 10 months. If they don't, they'll hit you with a tow notice in less than 24 hours.
Try to stay in one of the townhomes if you do decide to live here, 2 out of 3 of my downstairs neighbors smoked like freight trains, so the smell was all too common.

I’ve been a tenant for a little over 3 years now and decided not to renew my lease for another year. My family was affected by Covid this past summer and now at the end of my lease I’m being hit with all kinds of fees and I’m talking 10-15% in fees over the past few months by an “AUDITOR”! I agreed to pay over the base rent in October to catch up on late rent from my experience with Covid and missing full payments but that’s not good enough. I’m being told this morning by the manager in the office that I have accrued an additional $471.68 because the “AUDITOR” said to add this

Very bad experience you pay too much you don’t get what you pay for the apartments are really old they don’t remodel anything and the lady’s that works in the office are very rude I’ve complained on many things like dog waste it’s everywhere it’s disgusting and no matter how much you talk to them about it they just ignore you. I’ve also heard from neighbors that there apartments have a bad odor there moving out because of that plus they never change carpets

Consider your deposit gone no matter what condition you leave your apartment in. Office staff is rude and unhelpful. Routinely and automatically renews resident leases without their consent. It's also not as safe as they market themselves to be. Someone broke into my friend's car while they were visiting. Only one pool at a time is consistently open.

If you can Avoid North Brook Apartments at all possible, do so! I have had the worst experiences with this complex. I was broken into because my back door was never fixed, they never did anything about it. When you are a single mother you want to feel safe however I had to stick a wooden bar in my door to make sure that I would never get broken into again. My second incident is that my boyfriend is the owner of a restoration and carpet cleaning company for over 20 years. The apartments are well managed. We have lived here over a year and have had a great experience. Apartment managers are diligent, quick and informative. Maintenance is great and shows up promptly when needed. The actual apartments we have been in are well insulated, and our neighbors have been great.
