Art City Vets & Urgent Care
Art City Vets & Urgent Care has been serving pets and their owners in and around Philadelphia since 2018, providing general care, sick visit support and emergency services. Our new state-of-the-art Wellness Center, located across the street from our original location, offers primary care appointments including vaccines and exams, and carries on our tradition of providing exceptional care for dogs, cats and exotic pets.

Walk-in patients are accepted at our original location at Art City Vets & Urgent Care. Our mission is to help as many animals as possible, in super-modern facilities staffed with dedicated professionals practicing cutting-edge veterinary medicine. Health is our top priority. We provide the highest quality care using a wide range of wellness and preventative care options tailored to their specific needs.

Dr. Alison Whiter

Dr. Alison Whiter grew up in NJ and received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware. She then ventured west to pursue her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University, followed by a Small Animal Medical and Surgical Internship at Texas A & M University.
Dr. Jonathan Ball

Dr Jonathan Ball was studying to be a medical doctor when he rescued an abused and neglected pitbull named Eli. Eli had a number of health and behavioral issues that required veterinary care, introducing Dr. Ball to a different discipline and career course.

Eli went on to earn his Canine Good Citizen certification, therapy dog certification and Trick Dog title, and Dr. Ball went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2020 with the Elizabeth Bales Small Animal Behavior and Welfare Award.
Dr. Hanum Wensil-Strow

Growing up on a small farm in Elkridge, Maryland, Dr. Hanum Wensil-Strow, developed a passion for pets and their well being at a very young age. This passion led her to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. During her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, she completed several internships at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the USDA, Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Dr. Louisa Petronis

Dr. Louisa Petronis, originally from Westchester, NY, moved to Philadelphia 10 years ago to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. She attended Loyola University in Maryland where she studied creative writing and English. After graduation, she became involved with a local animal shelter, working in their veterinary spay and neuter clinic.
Dr. Morgan Shafer

Dr. Morgan Shafer (Nabhan) was born in Houston, Texas and went to high school in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. She studied biology and ecology at Boston University, where she spent two years conducting research on the ecology and physiology of bats and spent six months studying tropical ecology in Ecuador.
