Anxiety can cause people to feel afraid for no reason and if untreated, can greatly diminish an individual's quality of life. Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States and with the proper help, it is very treatable. PTSD can happen to anyone, even children and can affect your life and the people around you. PTSD can stem from being sexually assaulted, a traumatic car accident, complex grief, veteran warfare or from another time where you felt your life was being threatened.

About The Counselors
Report
Angus is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Carlow University. He has an inquisitive approach of exploration that can focus on how a client's past affects the present or how the present affects the future. He uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model which enables him to help clients identify the thoughts that are generating their feelings, which drives their behavior.
Mood Disorders
Report
Everyone feels sad, excited or angry sometimes. When kids feel too good, too mad, or too sad, they might have a mood disorder. A mood disorder is an illness of the brain. The feelings, thoughts and behaviors of mood disorders can cause problems in a kid's life. What causes mood disorders in children is up for debate.
Anxiety Disorders
Report
Anxiety is really just a form of stress. It can be experienced in many different ways in kids, for example physically, emotionally, and in the way kids view the world around them. Anxiety mainly relates to worry about what might happen or worrying about things going wrong or feeling like you're in some kind of danger.
Identity Development
Report
Being a boy or a girl, for most children, is something that feels very natural. At birth, babies are assigned male or female based on physical characteristics. When children are able to express themselves, they will declare themselves to be a boy or a girl (or sometimes something in between); this is their "gender identity."
