Thompson Rolfing Center
Rolfing or Structural Integration is a manual process for reorganizing and integrating the human body. The Rolfer uses physical pressure to guide connective tissue to a place that allows the body to move more freely, efficiently and with less pain. The Thompson Rolfing Center, founded in 1969 by Ron Thompson, offers an opportunity to invest in your body.

With 47 years of combined experience, the Thompson Rolfing Center is a pioneer in the development of Rolfing. Ron Thompson was a student and later the personal Rolfer to Dr. Ida Rolf (the founder of Rolfing), Rebecca Thompson studied under Ron. Your physical being, the body, is like clothing. It can fit so comfortably you hardly know it's there.
Services
The basic tool of rolfing is gravity, we can fight against it or we can join it. The human body is a structure that must live within relation to gravity. Think of your body as a set of blocks stacked on each other. If your upright body is out of line, or that is to say your blocks are not stacked in line evenly, gravity will pull on your body in an unequal unbalanced fashion.
Rolfing works with connective tissue, which forms a web-like structure throughout the body. From superficial to the deepest layers at accommodate an active, moving body but it cannot be stretched out. Because of injury, illness, stress, aging and repetitive use, this tissue will shorten, thicken become more unyielding and twist according to the pattern of strain to which the body is subjected.
The following is a brief outline of what you can expect with each of your first ten Rolfing sessions. Keep in mind that because your body is like no other, the sessions may vary to address your body's needs on any given day. Sessions are 90 minutes in length. It is important to remember that the ten sessions together combine to free, align and refit every part of your body into one, unified whole that fits you as it was designed to do once again.
Often clients come to us to relieve some sort of pain they may be experiencing. While Rolfing does alleviate symptoms, we do not diagnose illness or disease. Treatments are meant to be therapeutic and may not cure your conditions. Below are some of the most common areas of the body that cause chronic pain and how they may relate to your current aliment.
If you are an endurance athlete like a triathlete, runner, or cyclist, chances are you are looking to prevent pain and improve your performance. First lets address why you may have gotten there in the first place. We constantly use our bodies to adapt to (or to alter) the forces acting on us, our bodies themselves continuously change in response to the demands we make on them.

Critical: Professionalism
I tried to get in for my first apt. for Rolfing and the scheduler was very rude. She told me I need to be fully vaccinated and masked in order to be seen. This is illegal and over stepping. I live in Florida and we have personal choice here and its none of there business about a clients bodily choices.

It all started with a push up challenge in December of 2020. Weeks of doing 100 push ups a day destroyed me and Almost 1 year later. I've struggled with discomfort in my neck, shoulder and lower back. I joined the joint (chiropractic) after 4 months the pain would still always come back so I added Another type of massage. although it helped me feel better. It always felt like something would snap back. The constant fear of the pain and unable to sleep on my sides was slowly getting worse. I finally reached out to a friend who does acupuncture and he recommended Rolfing. At this point,

Ron changed my life. I never thought that rolfing could be so beneficial. Also, he is so awesome and fun, and has stories that will make you laugh and think. It's like a rolfing therapy with a side of life lesson therapy. Highly recommend.

I've had people say to me "Rolfing hurts so much, how can you stand that? "My thoughts on that are that "Rolfing doesn't hurt at all but brings out the pain that we have strored in our bodies. That we start to become comfortable in an uncomfortable body over the years!" I've been working with Ron for almost 30 years and must attest that I truly believe that he is the reason I'm still walking today. I suffer from degenerative disc disease and all my lower discs are bone on bone, I was also diagnosed with MS at 38 and suffer from an immense amount of pain throughout my body. Ron has continued to

I have been seeing Becca for several weeks and I am truly amazed at the results and at some of the revelations that her expertise has revealed to me. Through my own questions honed through her incredible knowledge, along with one session per week, I am on the road to rehabbing a body that has suffered many years of poor mechanics and movement patterns.
