Kelly is a Colorado native and was drawn to the Gunnison area in 1991 because of its world-class fly fishing and to obtain her degree from Western State College. After getting her degree in Sociology in 1995 she decided that the Gunnison area was just too beautiful to leave and looked for ways to stay in the valley.

If you’re a student looking for apartments DO NOT rent through Gunnison Real Estate and Rentals. The entire experience has felt extremely predatory. The agents here rely on people not knowing what they’re doing so they can just take your money. They made us sign the lease without seeing the apartment and had no information. We asked to see a layout of the apartment and they didn’t even know how to get that. They also were not transparent about the move in dates. When we started the searching process, we made it clear we needed to move in at the start of May. Within a week of talking to them

This company posted old photos of a listing that were taken when the listing looked new. When I arrived to see the place, the condition of the listing was dirty, junky and in much worse condition. When I complained about this disparity, the owner verbally attacked me in an extremely condescending and unprofessional way. I would not recommend using this company. They use deceptive advertising and do not treat people respectfully.

Do not ever rent through this company! They should be shut down. I don't think what they are doing is legal. They do not care about their customers, they just want your money. The property I lived in for three years was a dump the day I moved in. They did not fix anything from our move in check list. They then continued to neglect fixing anything in the house through the years. Sometimes the maintenance guy would come by, but thats all he would do. My friends still live there, and the roof has been leaking, GR&R sent over a couple of "roofers" to fix the roof and I think they'll be lucky to have

Unpleasant, unreasonable and difficult during all of our interactions over 2 years of renting from them. Upon moving in our carpets were in terrible shape (dog pee, burn holes, odd stains) they were obviously not cleaned well before we moved in. We asked them if they could take them out or clean them due to the terrible smells and looks, they told us they would be removed after we moved out and we shouldn’t worry, we wouldn’t be charged for them. Before moving out we asked them if we should clean them and again they said we shouldn’t worry about it. When we moved out, we found they charged

Very friendly and helpful staff. I moved across the country into one of their properties and they made my move as smooth as possible. Their deposits were very reasonable, although I felt the pet deposit was a little high but they did refund it when I moved out. I see a lot of reviews saying they didn’t fix things but in my experience they were always very quick to take care of any issues I had. Also, during the onset of the pandemic they were very understanding and helpful and worked with everyone. All in all I had a great experience renting from them and intend to continue using their services
