Darby's Pet Paradise was opened in 1996 in Manteca by our aunts Debbie Lanza and Angie Darby. They were young entrepreneurs with a love for animals. In 1998, they had moved and built the kennel facility we now run, located on Kiernan Avenue in Modesto behind their home. Since we were old enough, we've helped to take care of the business while they were away.
In 2017, Debbie and Angie decided they wanted to retire, so discussions began and we decided it was a smart move for us to take over. Slowly, we're making the business our own. Growing up, our family had a German Shepherd dog named Drew from one of our aunts' litters. Between us and our brother Phil, we'd probably debate over who Drew's best friend was.

Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, Saturday 9am to Noon, Sunday 3pm to 5pm, by appointment only. We require verification of vaccinations prior to drop-off for any new customers to ensure a smooth drop-off and eliminate turning you away for a missing vaccine day of drop-off. If your request is time-sensitive, please give us a call during business hours after having submitted your request.

We love animals and have years of experience working with them on both a personal level and as a boarding kennel. You can trust us to provide a safe, comfortable, fun, and healthy environment for your furry friend. We'll watch over your pet as if it were our own. We no longer allow visitation while boarded animals are in our care, and do not allow animals to leave during any part of their stay. Effective 10/1/19, ALL VACCINATIONS must have been in their system for a minimum of 48hrs prior to drop off day. NO SAME DAY VACCINATIONS. See below for longer waiting periods for more specific vaccinations.
