My husband and older daughters got certified last month to prepare for our Grand Cayman trip. They loved the instruction. In grand cayman, our dive masters commented numerous times how "well trained" my husband and kids were, saying they had exceptional buoyancy control.

Try breathing underwater for the first time! Get your first taste of scuba diving and how to use scuba gear in a controlled environment. How to breathe underwater comfortably with a regulator, monitor your air, depth and control your buoyancy. Although this is not an actual certification, Discover Scuba is a great introduction for those who don't know if they are sold on the world of scuba diving.
PADI Bubblemaker and Seal Team

PADI Bubblemaker: Bubblemaker is as fun as it sounds - This course is a student's first introduction to scuba diving - a chance for kids to blow bubbles. Students can use scuba gear to breathe underwater and swim around in shallow water. Bubblemakers will get a chance to experience scuba diving under the direct care and supervision of an instructor and take their first breaths underwater, shallower than 6 feet.

Adventure Outfitter's PADI Skin Diving course is, snorkeling while making breath-hold dives to observe aquatic life, up close and personal. It's a great way to explore the underwater world when you're not able to scuba dive or just not old enough yet.
The Skin Diver course teaches you: How to choose, adjust and use skin diving equipment, basic safety guidelines for being in and around the water, snorkeling and skin diving techniques including checking buoyancy, surface swimming, clearing water from your snorkel and performing effortless surface dives and finally, going on an optional skin dive at a local dive site!
