Located on the Pamlico Sound on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Frisco Woods Campground is your waterfront destination. Whether you're looking for a great family getaway or a romantic weekend, we can accommodate all your camping and lodging needs. We offer 30-50 amp service for RV camping, secluded campsites for your tent or pop-up and, for the not so adventurous, we offer camping cabins with electricity and air conditioning.
Many water sports enthusiasts find their way to our campground for our location and convenience. We have a large waterfront launching area for kiting, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, jet skis, small boats, or sail boats. There is something for everyone with on-site rentals and on-site kiteboard and windsurf instruction through local certified instructors.

Frisco Woods Campground is on Hatteras Island on highway 12 between Buxton and Hatteras Village. If you come from the south by ferry, take the Cedar Island Ferry to Ocracoke Island and then the Ocracoke to Hatteras Island free ferry. We are about 4 miles north of the Village of Hatteras on highway 12.

We are unable to show pictures of every site due to the size of our campground and number of sites. With over 250 sites, we can offer a variety of camping options. Our large tent site choices are primitive, electric and water or soundfront electric and water. Our pop-up sites include electric and water, full hook-up, full hook-up soundfront or soundfront electric and water.

One Room Cabins=2 full beds or 1 full bed and 1 twin bunk, Two room Cabins= 1 full bed and 2 sets of twin bunk beds in a separate room. They have air conditioner, lights, electrical outlets inside and park style charcoal grill, picnic table & water spigot outside. They do not have bathroom or kitchen facilities and you must provide your own bed linens.

Refunds - No cash or credit refunds will be given for campers who wish to check out prior to their pre-paid registered check-out date. The facilities are furnished solely for the convenience of our guests. All persons using these facilities do so at their own risk. Management is not responsible for accidents, injury, or loss of personal property due to weather conditions, fire, theft, or vandalism.
