Madrona Wine Merchants opened its door ten years ago mid-October as the leaves were turning and the rain settling in just as it is now. Over the last decade we have rotated through over 6000 wines while trying to curate a diverse selection of interesting grape juice that is fun to drink and enlivens the palate.
Thanks to all of you who have supported us in this endeavor over the past 10 years and join us as we raise a glass to the future. Just Sangi (but arguably from the best spot on earth to grow it), and then at least aged in oak for 2 years and 4 months in a bottle before release (that's minimum, for most producers it is more).

97 pts in the Decanter Wine Awards. Flamboyant and deep, with ample, lush and fresh forest fruits, bramble and cassis, with cascading sweet spice swiftly following. A super, brooding wine which will shine brighter with time. You can take that with a grain of salt, but the wine is quite good. From 40-year-old vines located close to the vineyards of Saint-Emilion, this Chateau has been in the Borderie family for five generations.
Bubbles Sweetness Levels

Just after disgorgement a "liqueur de dosage" - a blend of - most times- cane sugar and wine (sugar amounts up to 750 g/litre)- is added to adjust the levels of sugar in the Champagne and other bubbles when bottled for sale, and hence the sweetness of the finished wine. Today sweetness is generally not looked for per se, dosage is used to fine tune the perception of acidity in the wine.

Now you've figured out the first drink, then how many drinks per person. Studies show that people generally have two drinks the first hour and one per hour beyond that. At a 2-hour party, that would be 3 drinks per person, but at a four-hour wedding reception that figure moves to 5 drinks per person.
