Ankle Pain
Report
Ankle pain can be caused by instability, arthritis, gout, fractures, and many other conditions. Ankle pain can be present with swelling, stiffness, and redness in the immediate area. Patients describe the pain as intense dull and aching with weightbearing or ankle movement. Initial treatment usually consists of rest, ice, elevation, and immobilization.
Arch Pain
Report
Arch pain is common, usually caused by overuse or inflammation of the plantar fascia (a long ligament on the bottom of the foot). This condition is common among runners and is also known as plantar fasciitis. Symptoms include pain or stiffness and is sometimes associated with a heel spur. Unsupportive shoes, weight gain or injury can cause arch pain.
Diabetes and Complications
Report
Feet problems in diabetics are quite common, often because of nerve damage (neuropathy) and poor circulation. Neuropathy causes loss of sensation in your feet making it almost impossible to feel pain or discomfort. Both of this condition are factors in detecting wounds on time and the healing process is often slow.
Flatfeet
Report
Flatfoot is often a complex disorder, with diverse symptoms and varying degrees of deformity and disability. There are several types of flatfoot, all of which have one characteristic in common: partial or total collapse (loss) of the arch. Other characteristics shared by most types of flatfoot include toe drift, in which the toes and front part of the foot point outward.
Foot Fractures
Report
There are 26 bones in the foot. These bones support our weight and allow us to walk and run. Certain activities or injuries can cause a fracture, or break, in one or more of these bones. Pain, swelling, redness and even bruising are signs of a possible fracture. Fractures of the foot can be diagnosed by x-rays or other studies.
