Dr. Lynae Canales MD, FAAP is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined ABC Pediatrics in 2002. Dr. Canales grew up in Connecticut and received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
She received her medical degree in 1999 from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her residency training in 2002 with Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.Dr. Canales enjoys exploring our National Parks, watching baseball, reading and spending time with her husband and 3 sons.

Telemedicine
Report
Your child's next pediatric visit could take place in the convenience of your home via telemedicine. Telemedicine allows you to have virtual visits with your child's physician at ABC Pediatrics. During a telemedicine visit, please ensure all streaming and other network intensive tasks are postponed until after your visit.

One of our pediatricians is available at all hours. Most non-urgent questions regarding your child are best answered by your child's pediatrician. If you have an emergency with a sick or injured child after hours, please contact our physician on call at (361) 853-3222. In the case of a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.
Behavioral Health
Report
Your child's behavioral health is just as important as their physical health. These visits can include evaluations and follow ups for ADHD, anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder etc. For ADHD visits, we follow up at regular intervals in office to reevaluate the effectiveness of the medication as well as monitor weight and blood pressure while on the medications.
Newborn

We are elated to care for your new bundle of joy. We know that there are a lot of adjustments when a new baby arrives and we want to be there to help. Please be sure to call and schedule your appointment before leaving the hospital. At this visit, we will discuss newborn care and feeding, your infants growth, and we address any concerns you may have.
New Patients

Thank you for choosing us to care for your child's healthcare needs. We strive to offer the best care for your child as they grow from infancy through adolescence. Please be prepared to answer questions related to your child's medical history including medications currently or previously taken. You will be required to fill out our new patient packet & review and sign our office policies.
