Welcome to The Music School of San Mateo, a joyous integration of music and movement for children from sixteen months through third grade. Since 1983 children from Pacifica to Palo Alto have participated in this unique educational program. We base our music teaching on the work of Carl Orff - famed Austrian musician, composer and pioneer in the field of music education.
We believe that children learn best by active play: clapping, singing and chanting, drumming a beat, finding a melody on a xylophone, moving and dancing, and by playing rhythmic, singing and music theory games. Smaller classes of parents, caregivers, and children, will come together for some musical fun!
