Dr Wilcox has been doing reflux and weight loss surgery in the Colorado Springs area since 2001. Having grown up in the area before attending the University of Colorado Medical School and completing his surgical residency in Seattle at the Virginia Mason Medical Center, he returned to the area while serving in the Air Force with duty at Fort Carson and stayed in the area after ending his time in service.
Dr Wilcox has continually improved his practice and adopted advanced minimally invasive techniques including robotic gastric bypass and para-esophageal hernia repair. He and his Nurse Practitioner, Julie Unruh, are a great team both in the operating room and taking care of patients in the clinic setting.

Anti-Reflux surgery has been shown to be the best way to control regurgitation predominant reflux. It is also a great option for patients who wish to avoid lifelong proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy and those who have become refractory to PPI treatment. Dr Wilcox is one of the few surgeons trained in the LINX reflux management system placement in the Colorado Springs Area.

We are not contracted with Humana or Kaiser Permanente, but may be able to see as out of network provider.
