Yearly Visits
Report
A Pap test is done yearly to check the cervix for abnormal cell changes. The cervix is the lower part of the uterus, which opens into the vagina. Cell changes can develop on the cervix that, if not found and treated, can lead to cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can almost always be prevented, and having regular Pap tests is the key.
Family Planning
Report
Family planning is a process in which an individual or couple comes up with a strategy of when to become pregnant and how to use birth control methods to carry out these plans. Family planning is a concept typically used by a female--male couple to control when, how and if they conceive. For this reason, it is not necessarily synonymous with birth control, as adoption, sterilization and abortion also fall under the family planning umbrella.
Endometriosis
Report
The lining of your uterus is called the endometrium. Endometriosis occurs when the endometrium grows on your ovaries, bowel, and tissues lining your pelvis. It's unusual for endometrial tissue to spread beyond your pelvic region, but it's not impossible. Endometrial tissue growing outside of your uterus is known as an endometrial implant.
