Look good, feel good. There's truth to those words. While looks certainly aren't the be all and end all of life, the reality is the better we feel about ourselves the more likely we are to be confident and emotionally healthy beings. According to Nationaleatingdisorders.org body image is, .how you see yourself when you look.
Joint Replacement
Report
As a result of aging or injury, the cartilage in our joints can break down. This results in a condition called arthritis. Arthritic joints become very stiff and painful. After all conservative treatment has been exhausted, some patients may be a candidate for joint replacement. During this procedure, the orthopedic surgeon removes the damaged cartilage and bone and replaces it with a prosthesis.
Rotator Cuff Injuries
Report
Shoulder pain and weakness is very common. The rotator cuff tendon which moves your shoulder, can fail due to repetitive use or injury. The spectrum of injuries to your shoulder can range from inflammation, arthritis, instability, partial and complete rotator cuff tears. Your surgeon will examine you and perform tests to diagnose your condition and recommend a treatment plan accordingly.
Hip Replacement
Report
Hip joints are engaged in every step we make. When they hurt, it can really slow us down. After a thorough examination by our surgeons, non-operative or operative treatments may be recommended, depending on the condition. As our hip joint ages, or sometimes due to injury, hip replacement may be recommended.
Meniscal Tears
Report
The meniscus is a small cartilage cushion inside the knee which acts as a shock absorber between the femur (thigh bone) and tibia (shin bone). Injury or degeneration can cause damage to the meniscus. Once damaged, the meniscus does not repair itself and your surgeon may need to perform arthroscopic surgery to repair or remove the damaged tissue.
