Uproot Wines
Uproot is a winery that reimagines winemaking to create something fresh, modern, and full of energy. We're change makers, experience makers. And, yes, some might even say trouble makers. Quantity over quality isn't in our vocabulary. Only the best and most concentrated berries from our Napa and Santa Ynez vineyards make the cut.

Greg's the guy who was so passionate about wine that he uprooted his New York life to get his hands dirty in Napa. Jay's the guy who dug in with his deep-seeded business experience to help breathe fresh life into a timeworn industry. Along the way we've surrounded ourselves with the best and most talented craftspeople.
Services
Cabernet Sauvignon
Report
In Napa, cabernet is king. So it didn't come as a surprise to hear the Uproot faithful clamoring for more. But they didn't want just any old cabernet, they wanted the biggest, baddest cab in the Valley. At Uproot we said, "Bring it on!" This luxurious Napa cab is lush and expressive on the nose, aromas of truffle, dark berries, and lavender jump out of the glass.
Grenache
Report
When we first started doing Grenache in 2012, it was so uncommon in Napa that the welcome committee was undecided. Then it promptly became our bestseller and for good reason. Enter the 2013 with some extra oomph in color and spicy character, plus prominent berries and a confectionery sweetness to complement the smokiness.
Grenache Blanc
Report
Our 2017 Grenache Blanc comes from a new source, Paragon Vineyards in the Edna Valley. It is located in San Luis Obispo, 90 minutes north of Santa Barbara. The vineyard was planted in 2005 and is just over 5 miles west of the PacificOcean. The soil is a mixture of volcanic, clay loam, and rocky marine sediment.
Sauvignon Blanc
Report
They said it couldn't be done. How could we possibly top 2012? It wasn't easy, but a frost-free winter accompanied by warm summer temperatures brought fruit that could best be described as: Early, even, and excellent. Our bright and balanced 2013 Sauv Blanc has staked its claim as the leader in the Uproot arsenal.
Ros
Report
The 2016 Uproot Rose, dry with a refreshing mix of sour and sweet fruit. This lively Rose keeps the summer vibes going well past the time the sun goes down. If Grenache is our gateway wine, this is our getaway wine, enjoyed best with sand between the toes and charcoal on the grill. The secret to making great rose is coolness.
