The Board of Directors of Emerald M are a talented and knowledgeable group of individuals who clearly understand and are committed to the mission of Hope, Renewal, and Growth- through the use of equine assisted therapies. Each board member is willing to share their professional expertise and time to facilitate, maintain, and develop the programs we offer to our communities.

Hippotherapy is a treatment strategy used by Physical, Occupational and/or Speech Therapists to utilize the movement of the horse along with traditional therapeutic techniques to achieve the desired motor and sensory outcomes of the participant. The horse provides multidimensional movement and multisensory input in an organized fashion which can help to improve a variety of deficits.

Through the use of equine assisted therapies, we strive to bring hope into the lives of the people we serve, provide them with the renewed sense of self and give them an opportunity of growth. According to Psychology Today, horses are incredibly intuitive. Horses are prey animals, therefore they are very in-tune with their surroundings.

Equicizer is a piece of equipment typically used by jockeys for training purposes. It is a mechanical horse that simulates the movement of a real horse and is controlled by the rider's movement. It is excellent for some of our participants that don't yet have the core strength or balance to mount a real horse.
