Melissa specializes in providing speech-language therapy to children who are struggling to develop expressive language, social skills and/or articulation for a variety of reasons including (but not limited to) low core/oral muscle tone, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and motor planning disorders.
Often when children are having difficulty developing functional expressive language, they may use behavior (anything from pointing to request a desired item, to hitting, biting, and screaming) to communicate with others because their verbal skills are not effective.
