What to do before your first lesson

Check with me to make sure you have an approved instrument. A tuned, acoustic (non-digital) piano is preferred, but a full-sized (88-keys) digital piano with weighted keys is acceptable. Please also scan or take a photo of the signed Piano Lesson Contract and send to me by email or text. When starting with new students, I use the Piano Adventures series - Lesson, Theory, and Performance PRIMER LEVEL.
Student Resources
Report
TEORIA - This comprehensive site is a wonderful resource to help drill notes, intervals, and other music theory skills. It gets quite advanced, but is also good for beginners as you can set your parameters for drills. MUSICTHEORY.NET - A very practical site to help you learn the building blocks of music.

Thank you again for doing your Ragtime - Scott Joplin program for my women's club group. Everyone, and I do mean everyone is raving about it. The history you included really added to the experience. I am certain your Gershwin program will be equally as good, keep me in the loop so we can fit you in. Juanita L.
