JON WALKER STABLES & RIDING ACADEMY is a 22-acre horse farm equipped with indoor and outdoor facilities for their training center and riding academy. Jon & Carolyn Walker are the husband and wife team that share the same love and devotion for horses along with over 50 years of professional experience.
The Walkers strive daily to keep their horse haven operating with SAFETY first and FUN following right behind! Jon is a NATIONAL CHAMPION Trainer in the Roadhorse, Friesian, and Saddlebred Divisions where as Carolyn is a NATIONAL CHAMPION Instructor in the Academy Division. Carolyn's riding academy & lesson program provides various levels of riding instruction opportunities.

Husband and Wife owners of Jon Walker Stables & Riding Academy Inc., Carolyn and Jon Walker have a true dedication and passion for teaching and training the discipline of English riding, better known as Saddleseat. Jon specializes in the training of the following breeds: American Saddlebreds, Friesians, Roadhorses, and Hackneys.

Jon Walker Stables is blessed with a staff family that has a dedicated commitment to the wellbeing of the horses and the care of the stables. Jon & Carolyn Walker know that this type of loyalty is what has helped them to be considered as one of the best training facilities in the industry. Trainer/Owner Jon has over 47 years of personal experience in training horses and has been riding horses since he was 5 years old.
Camps

Summer Day Camp at Jon Walker Stables in Gastonia, North Carolina is about horsemanship, sportsmanship and enjoying the connection with horses and friends. During JWS summer camps, children can attune to nature and unplug from technology while gaining communication skills, leadership skills and fostering independence.
Riding Lessons
Report
Once basic riding and safety skills are met, the rider may be moved into a pair or a group. A pair lesson is 2 people and approximately 30 minutes in length and a group lesson is 3 or more approximately 45 minutes in length. While we place much of our emphasis on riding the horse, the skills learned in taking care of the horse and equipment are equally important.

Birthday Celebration in our beautiful Lounge Area - A great place to open presents and you are welcome to bring Birthday Cake and snacks for them to enjoy! Jon Walker Stables will provide a free coupon to the birthday child for an introductory riding lesson to be used at a later date within 6 months after the birthday party.
