We are very proud of these two students. Derrick "Professor" Reynolds on the left, just received his 3rd degree black-belt in jiu-jitsu, certified by Rickson Gracie and the Jiu Jitsu Global Federation. He's been part of our dojo for 26 years. Kim Jackson on the right, was one of our first black-belts in our our original karate dojo.
She is back after an eighteen year break to raise a family. She has been re-certified as a brown belt in the dojo. These are very dedicated martial artists and we are proud of them! Zanshin Dojo opened as a karate school in 1992 and in 1994 became the first Gracie "Brazilian" jiu-jitsu school in middle Tennessee.

Report
I have been studying Gracie Jiu-Jitsu at Zanshin Dojo for twelve and a half years. It has been a great way to stay in shape, relieve stress, learn self-defense, and have fun. I love the fact that the school maintains a good balance of self-defense and "tournament" jiu-jitsu. The school has a family friendly atmosphere where adults and their kids can train together and everyone is there to learn and improve.
