Over the past 30 years, APG has grown to include 7 pathologists, a histology department and cytology department and has emerged as a top laboratory in the Texas Panhandle by serving hundreds of physicians, hospitals and surgery centers.Founded in 1994, PPL has progressively grown and continues to serve the physician offices, nursing homes, and hospitals across the Texas Panhandle.

Amarillo Pathology Group diagnoses over 30,000 tissue biopsies and surgical pathology cases a year, including 3,000 non-gyn cytology specimens. Our board-certified pathologists specializing in Hematopathology offer an in-house interpretation of flow cytometric analysis, allowing the pathologist to correlate immunophenotypic characteristics with morphologic tissue diagnosis.

PPL offers a full-service local clinical laboratory with stat and same day turn around on most testing. PPL regularly analyzes new testing to bring in-house to best serve our Physician Clients and ultimately our patients by offering a full spectrum of laboratory services. PPL is able to perform 95% of all testing ordered in-house.
APG/PPL offers extended hours for the convenience of our patients. The 3501 Soncy location is open 7:30am-5pm Monday through Friday. The 1301 S. Coulter location is opened from 8am to 5pm Monday through Thursday, Friday 8am-3pm. All APG/PPL locations are closed on Saturday & Sunday. No, you do not need an appointment.
